Eternal Fire

When love is not returned.

For you I would build

An eternal fire

A bright inferno

To fight off the cold

To show the world

That I admire

Your soul and beauty

As they unfold.

For you I would build

An eternal fire.

But if your love for me

Flickers and flashes,

And someone else

You desire,

I’ll build instead a pyre

And burn myself to ashes.

I started to read this cause I just wrote a poem about fire too guess that’s the latest wave here:) yours makes me sad I like the rhythm and rhyme of it but for goodness sakes don’t burn yourself! They wouldn’t be worth it!!!
