Nervous

If only you could tell your crush the real reasoning behind your silence...

I don't know.

You, you just make me nervous.

And I mean, it's easy to talk to guys like Chris and that other guy that I don't even remember his name because, well,

I know what they want. 

And I know as long as I look a certain way or talk with a smile and a little giggle behind it they'll continue talking to me.

But you, 

I know nothing about you. 

I don't know you're hobbies, or your favorite rock band.

But, it's like, 

I can tell that whatever I say, 

You're going to listen. 

And then you're either going to not like what I say, or like it, or somewhere in between.

But you just seem like you're looking for more than a pretty face or a one night stand.

And maybe you aren't, I mean, not tonight. 

But something about you tells me,

That's not enough for you.

And you may like football, and going to the bar, 

But you're not like your friends, Chris and whatever-his-name-is. 

You're cute, but, 

You know what's on the outside isn't enough. 

I see you trying, you want it. 

To find that person who's enough. 

To find someone who you feel is complete. 

But you haven't. 

Or maybe sometimes you think you have, and they just don't feel the same about you. 

Or maybe they do, but something about them still doesn't satisfy you. 

But it's because they're external, and you're not,

I can see that.

When you looked at me, It was my chance to make my first impression.

I know if you knew me, you would see that I'm different.

But I simply turned around, not saying one word. 

I know who I am, I love who I am. 

But how could I show you that in only one brief moment. 

It wasn't even about me being afraid of saying the wrong thing, I mean,

I don't care about that.

I just really, really, 

Wanted to say the right thing. 

And that,

That made me nervous. 

Quiet.

Speechless.
