In denial

In denial

A Poem by abhas

Walking on the streets so full,

People seemingly busy,

All seeking where to go,

Staring endlessly...

I could deny the fact that

I did end,

They wouldn’t know about it,

So I decide to play along,

They wouldn’t play with me,

And sometimes I’d feel myself

Like a candle light in the rain,

To live in fear of surviving

... Surviving once again,

Life twisted and turned around,

Left searching for good advice,

My refrigerator shelters a

Crying piece of ice,

In denial

I rely on,

In denial,

I defy all,

I rely on... I defy all... trusting on the desires not meant to be,

The art carved by tortured souls shall haunt its creator forever...

Stanza three..omg...and the last line, unbelievable how you closed it. We carve a life, our own, we carve a lover with the things we say and do, we carve ourselves by our own perspectives with only the creator to judge what is beautiful and what is not. I am as a sculptor, creator, painter we paint ourselves into corners and then look around for someone else to blame for our misery...you sir are a phenom.

Real life can be confusing. To see the world can leave us sad and weak. We can join in or become separate. Some choices are hard. Be a sheep or a eagle flying free. Many questions open up by this poem. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

this was very insightful...."In the race for luxury and success, why do I feel this void within, as if this was not what I was meant to be; as if a suppressed me is craving to resurface. Is this the story of the thousands of others I glance by on the street? "...we always play along, adjust while others don't' do it..but who knows- maybe they are also passing through a similar phase? I loved your line "To live in fear of surviving
... Surviving once again, "...wonderfully portrayed...great job!
