The Bashful One

The Bashful One

A Poem by Aly Mendoza
"

This is a RIDDLE. Try to guess what I'm pertaining to here. Actually, it's obvious because of the title I used. Have fun, i guess :))

"

In a glimpse, you were here, a part of me

Dwelling inside my contemplation, here and there

O glittering almonds! A tribute will never be enough

To recompense our encounter on the prologue

As I traipsed along the pavement, I saw you

I extended my hand, perched on you

But you averted me like a revealed Juliet

Felt so rejected, I was really in despair.

“Perhaps you were a snowflake,” I reckoned

However, just like you, I saw one that’s lovely, naïve

Then, I left my trace using the end of my timbers

I uproared when nothing but puny fingers firmly closed lay in front of me

I don’t give a damn, maybe I do

You may say you’re diffident, demure

Are you one of those horned creatures in Sumatra? No.

So introvert , a paradise with you " inconceivable!

Evermore, I dream of you being mine

Nevertheless, I’ve little leap of faith, what’s left’s to stare

At daylight, the chance’s a split-second; at sundown, it’s futile

When will you ever open yourself still to me?

It’s impossible; even my imagination’s been transcended

I admit, the prologue have never ended

I confess, the real story have never started yet

But to me, it’s a Grimm tale " one with a happy ending.
