I baked you a pie, and you spat on it.

I baked you a pie, and you spat on it.

A Poem by adichie
"

Just working out some stuff in the title, and something unrelated in the write itself.

"

Walking down the sidewalk with you
suddenly nothing but a rush of air beside me.
fast-acting quicksand, I realize.
I walk back.
I dive in.

Walking down the sidewalk with you
you disappear into the quicksand.
you take me with you.
my fingers find the edge of the pavement.
I climb my way out.

Walking down the sidewalk with you
nothing but a rush of air beside me.
your hand grasps my ankle
tearing me away from the sunshine.
my heel breaks your hand.
I never go in.

The great escape. Good for you, you got out of this relationship at the third attempt. Improved a bad situation. A positive ending Adix.

And yet sometimes I feel like the smell of catfish lingers far too long. :):)

Oh no catfish well and truly stink. Be careful if you go fishing :)
i like the strength of this...not letting someone who is devious bring us down with them...
not allowing ourselves to mired in the muck of evil...
we just walk away, disengaging.

By God, sometimes people do learn. What I believe we are reading here are the words of one who has been burned at least once, maybe twice, by bad relationships. Not so on time #3. Good for you!

I think this is an heart felt piece; a piece driven by a thoughtful reason.
There is always a way out of everything. Just with time and patience.

Nicely conveyed.
