When I Cried

When I Cried

A Poem by stargirl23

when I cried

it wasn't for you

or being born

but everything in between

dragging too many textbooks

fear of getting looks

ignoring invites sent

lost and distant friends

not doing enough

being less than tough

Time's Olympic-record pace

loving too many a face

snoozing overtime

worrying about rhymes

being different

bodily discontent

beauty outside

futility of life

and it brought a sense of relief

Never really learned how to cry. Yeah I know. I am female, supposed to be a master at it. Sometimes I wonder if I would be able to write if I could cry, lol. Love the everything in between line. what is black or white, mixed a shade of grey.

LOL and thank you!
"when I cried
it wasn't for you
or being born
but everything in between" These lines that you began with are so full and speak of the times when it's just all come to a head. Crying ,they say, releases toxins...it is very cleansing. Often afterward we do feel better, even though nothing has changed but us.

you do very well
with your words
