A Memory

A Memory

A Poem by stargirl23

I’ve dwelled for too long

on this one past memory

it gains significance each time

I’ve made it a hyperbole

a crumb from rotten fruit cake

that at first appealed to me

inundated in saliva

it’s been changing slowly

soggy, decayed, drained of flavor

yet until sleep comes, it’s all I see

I love this. I love your imagery with what you write. Simplicity and chrystal clear!

Adi, this piece resonates with a hushed brilliance. Such a compact container of a myriad of feeling, imagery and emotion entwined like a finely loomed tapestry. You may well be one of the most talented writers here on WC. Keep sending me RRs please. take care...dan
