I WISH YOU LOVED ME MOM

I WISH YOU LOVED ME MOM

A Poem by afra

Now I see those lucky girls

Whose mothers are always around

But you are never there for me

Like you are already under the ground

You give me money

You give me all I need

You call me honey

But you are still not the person you were supposed to be

All the stuff you do for me

Makes me cry

You say that its the best for me

You make me wish to die

You want me to be like you

Do you want me to be fake?

You never see the pain in my eyes

Cause you are too busy pointing out my mistakes

I wish you can be like dad

Who is always there for me

He loves me for who I am

Not busy trying to change me

You never fulfill the promises

That you love to make

You never give love

Just like to take

You are no longer a stranger to me

Cause you have neglected me for such a long time

You leave me in tears

Like every thing is okay and fine

Your hate made  me questioned you

Are you really the person who gave me birth??

Cause you are the reason of my broken dreams

You are the reason of my pain and hurt

Your words mentally beats me down

You call me weak

You are too busy telling me what to do

You don't even let me speak

I wish I can stop loving you

Just like you have stopped loving me

Our relationship is never like it should be

I wish that you loved me

Sad story. Very moving. Reminds me of the anger I held against my mother. That was until I became a parent myself. Then I realised how damn hard it is to be a parent. Let alone managing to be a good one. So I chose forgiveness. Especially because I learned shed been dealt a bad hand from her parents before.

This poem is full of raw emotion, makes me sad to read it (which is a good thing because I'm relating to the character in the poem). I'm feeling her pain and torment and constant push and pull of a damaged realtionship between mother and daughter. Great work!

A great poem about a realistically controlling mother. Your emotions are loud and clear.

I just wrote a poem with a similar theme. But having actually lived in mine i have a feeling that you could have taken this somewhere totally different. Flowed well good use of language, just... a little boring. But whatever you do DO NOT be discouraged. keep writing!!! You have potential, just take it somewhere. PeRSIST

I must say I would've expected better afra....I mean this is good but its been done and done again....Although it is a very emotional and very heavy feeling poem it just seems like you could've made it stick out way more than the rest...I think you are a way better writer and you can be one of those that can actually stand out from the rest....But still all in all it was good....Could've been amazing though with the topic..

The emotions pour onto the page, you really know how to grab at the heart.

this is so relatable in many ways to me. I just wish my dad was there for me, but we can't have it all. I know exactly what this feels like...it's like your not enough and never will be. There is only one thing i can say that has gotten me through and I don't know if your religous or not, but I turned to God. Also I found someone who does care about me and treats me like her own. I still am with my mother, but it's like a new struggle everyday. Your poem is great I would go through and maybe fix a few lines I saw a few words you might wann change around to make more since but it's really great. I'm sorry that this happened or is happening to you. If you need someone to talk to you can message me.And I'm sorry this is so long.

i hope so too
The "I wish you loved me" is played out. I want another take on this angst-driven, whiney theme of yours. This site is filled with this poem, this and the added line of slit teenage wrists. And bony clavicles.
