Phosphorescent Phoenix

Phosphorescent Phoenix

A Poem by Siege Powell

I am fire
The sun as it burns
Let the poison melt off
This is how you learn.
I am the universe
Flaming chaos, empty space
Trying to evolve impressively
Failing horribly, not a race.
This is how you grow
This is how you learn
Let go of the controls
No need to wait your turn.
Feed your revolution
That white hot fire inside
The dreams that keep you going
Those painful nights you cried.
This is what it feels like
To die and be reborn
You’ll do it a thousand times
Before you reach your final form.
Take heed of what you’ve learned
Those lessons painfully taught
They revealed to you who you are
And cast light on what you’re not.
Use these lessons wisely
You are fragile now reborn
Rise from the ashes gently
But never fear the coming storm.
We are chaos eternal
We are evolutionary might
We are souls ablaze and burning
You cannot extinguish our light.
