If I could touch you

If I could touch you

A Poem by Achilles
"

The woes of falling for a false person

"
If I could touch you

I would memorize the map
Your scars made
Over years of imagined traveling

I would feel your cheeks
Apple-round and not sallow
As they pretend to be

I would breach the gap your lips make
Dipping my finger in
Your tongue tasting me

I would card my fingers through your hair
Soft, inviting me to spend hours
Enveloped in your warmth

But I cannot
And must compensate with the betrayal
Of a flat, disinterested computer screen

Author's Note

Achilles
I’m aroace so I honestly have no idea what falling in love feels like, just stories from friends. I end up writing a lot of love poems though, which I suppose is a problem.

I like it, as far as the feeling of falling in love, oh boy that’s a loaded question, easy to confuse lust and love so it’s a trial by fire. Enjoy the both and let them play out and write it out. This is good!
