Welcome Home..by Michael

Welcome Home..by Michael

A Poem by Michael Reisman

Spinning through revolving doors,

I find too many people coming and going.

Hellos and goodbyes take the word temporary

And shoves it down my throat. Can we slow down

For a minute or two? Circumstances and distance

Play a major role until our heads hit the pillow

And wonder why? A dream slows us down and then

Lets us look at reality the way it supposed to be.

It was on an escalator that you were going up

And I was going down. Our eyes met for the first time

Though we had spoken before. I hopped over the rail

And rode with you to the top as we held hands.

Distance and circumstances sometimes change when

When I whispered to you on the pillow next to me,

"Welcome home"...
