Redemption

Redemption

A Poem by Apollos
"

My favorite aspect of God.

"
You bring darkness to light.
Causing demons to be uptight.
Who is this person who refuses You in me?
You grafted me into Your Tree.

Birthed from Knowledge of Thee.
Night vision goggles I can see past evil deeds.
All things for the good.
You have chosen me.

Pour my heart out.
Your blood is flowing like a spout.
I’ve put every fear in His hand.
I bury these nightmares in the sand.

Dead man walking.
No more talking.
Silent Lamb led to slaughter.
World’s pleasures I will no longer bother.

From sheep to Shepherd.
Lion from leper.
No more pepper mixed with my salt.
Kingdom advancing I choose not to halt.

Shaken up but never breaking.
Bleeding out but never forsaking.
Oh boy this Bread keeps on baking.
Stomping on that head of Satan.

Living as if I’ll never die.
Making every decision like it’s do or die.
Frying out this flesh so I can hand out some Freedom Fries.
No longer trying as if He’s a lie.

Red mixed with blue makes purple dye.
See through that filter to be alive.
Banner of my life I don’t need no other reason why.
Fill me with Your Spirit so that I can fly.

Author's Note

Apollos
The picture is of Manu Ginobili dunking on Chris Bosh in the 2014 NBA Finals. I personally charge Manu as the reason his team dramatically lost the year before so this picture signifies his redemption of past failures.
