Death

Death

A Poem by Apollos
"

“Surely you will die” didn’t just mean a future physical death.

"
An absence of His Breath.
Surely as you partake is the moment you become an inmate.
A prison of your mind’s inception.
A deflection of your own deceptions.

Compromised at birth you had no choice.
Yet you still chose to give Sin a voice.
A concept of mind’s theft.
Risen from the depths of Pride’s crest.

A Check that has you vexed.
A complex that your life has been paid in full but you’ve just been made the fool.
The Fool voided your worth if you found your existence in this earth.
A kernel of truth with no proofs.

You’ve been made aloof.
You’re but a vapor.
You go “Poof!”
Let loose the abuse.

No excuses as His Name is written in all creation.
Sing a chord out of tune and we all lose.
The Orchestrator sets the pace for this race.
We are The Body and He is our face.

“For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true:
“Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15:53-55

A lot of ways to approach this topic. Just one of many I thought I’d speak into.

the soul dies way before the body...we are supposedly born with this Original Sin...can't help that, but when we reach the age of reason...we have free will...(at least those are the notions pounded into my Catholic background)
but what road do we choose and why?
and are some of us just destined to fail in his eyes?
perhaps.
a very thoughtful write...gives us the choice to do some introspection, or not.
