Simplicity

Simplicity

A Poem by Aaron Jinks

There’s no simplicity in how my heart races

faster than the fastest when

you                come              close.

In how every cell inside of me electrifies.
Hawking. Tyson. Kaku.

Baffled. Confused.

Algorithms quiver like the strings of my heart you play perfectly.

All logic becomes madness when I dive into your eyes of seaweed and the aquatic.

Psychology burns around us as we dance in the haze because it’s more,

more than the fluids and hormones and cells,

no, it’s on a higher level.

It’s the way your cabernet smile surrounded by candlelight-

head on my shoulder, hand in my hand while the snow falls the way you want it to

moves me.
