Not Now Dead

Not Now Dead

A Poem by Andrew John

Do I wish you dead,
rather than merely dying?
You see, if you were gone
now, oh now,
not remaining then,
not here at a future time,
with lasting misery,
it would be no longer.

It could be
gone, gone, gone,
and I should have time
once the gravity of grieving
had become something that was
then, then, then
rather than
now, now, now.

often, we cannot stand to see the suffering of someone close, and when the now becomes the then and the gone...we feel that person is better off...
The inevitable is bound to happen...and it is no picnic to have to suffer any longer than necessary.
I like how this was worded...almost like an avoidance of the pain.
or an attempt.
