A Memory

A Memory

A Poem by smilemore

My favorite memory, by far, sitting across from you at the bar. I look away for a moment hoping to catch your eye. Suddenly I turn around and my oh my, what a handsome guy. You tell me your name is Nick, express your interest for my beauty, boy aren’t you slick. You grab my hand and ask for a dance. I agreed to one, tonight is my time to take a chance. Walking over to the dance floor, you smile. I ask why, you say you’ve wanted to dance with me for awhile. A small subtle grin on my face, in the middle of the dance floor now, right in place. Put my hands on your shoulders, yours on my hip, praying I don't male a fool of myself and trip. Looking into each others eyes, I get this amazing feeling, I hope it never dies. You spin me around, so focused on you I only hear our sound. The sound of the music and your gentle voice, glad I made this choice. I could stay here in your arms for hours, you make me feel alive, this moment is ours.
