The Sun Will Shine Again

The Sun Will Shine Again

A Poem by smilemore

Like rain on a stormy day,

I try to hold them back,

The sky is full of grey,

Tear filled eyes and the room goes black.

Body shaking,

I can’t stop,

My heart is aching,

To the floor, I drop.

Lying there alone,

Feeling used,

Heart crushed, like a broken bone,

You must be amused.

Used me,

Abused my heart,

Happy? We would be,

Did you enjoy tearing us apart?

All those long nights,

Meaningless, to you,

The late night bites,

Early morning coffee runs, a few.

None of that matters now,

I will lie here on the floor,

Our memories, I’ll forget, somehow,

Crying, as I empty your drawer.

One day the sun will shine again,

The sky will be blue,

I will learn to abstain,

It will be hard, I love you.
