Some Angel

Some Angel

A Poem by Albatross
"

Sin is a b***h

"

What she really wanted

never really came close

to what I could come to bring.

Her satisfaction was bare

and my apathy and wandering was jumbled

in a diminishing sphere of enjoyment.

My eyes for her have become dim

but once I get out

of her bottle neck cling

perhaps my eyes will have a shine again.

Now it’s evening

but when God made this world

He said dark and light,

night and day.

I want my tomorrow to be day.

I want to take some time

and remove her hair from my bed.

Maybe I’ll shape her hair

in the alphabet’s image

so it reads, IT IS FINISHED.

I want my day to be slimming

and flattering

against the wire of scrutiny

I’ve been tied to for so long.

My past days have been limited

but I feel a lengthening.

Evenings will come again but

that’s when the need for day is revealed.

What she really wanted

was to keep me from the light, but

she will always direct me toward it.
