My Mind, It Wanders

My Mind, It Wanders

A Poem by Alexa Grace Prince

My mind,

It wanders

Barefoot into the unknown.

With it, lies no guidance.

All day it wanders

Trying to escape reality

Spending a few moments in a faraway place.

All night it wanders.

Trying to figure out how

To stop the tears from falling.

Finding new ways to hide my pain.

It wanders to places where

Hiding isn’t necessary,

And accepting is easy.

Places where love is abounding,

And the struggles are temporary.

My mind,

It wanders.
