The Rabbit Hole

The Rabbit Hole

A Poem by Sincerely, Alex
"

"Down the rabbit hole, no coming back again."

"

Lay it down, lay me down

Down the rabbit hole, no coming back again

Save the body! Save the brain!

Mentality is forever lost

Rock-a-bye baby, falls from the tree top

Cracks in my foundation begin to crumble

Far enough for distractions, close enough to sting

Poison flows, I'm left alone

The doctor refuses antidote

Selfishness deserves

'No more weeping, you'll make your eyes swell'

A baby cries, and I die

Isolation, seperation, exasperation, there is no destination

Darkness ensues, light is too pure for the person of me

Without my heart, my soul has escaped me

The rabbit hole is the only place for me

Definitely an intriguing write! I liked the depth and abstraction of this piece, and also the strength and punchiness of the emotions that you conveyed. Your poem flowed really well, and I liked the feeling of motion and progression within your piece. The imagery that you created was amazing, and I thought that you captured the concept of the Rabbit Hole really well.

This is truly down the rabbit hole, Alice. What else is behind the mirror? Very nice pace and good exposition of emotion. Good format for the subject matter. When this sort of thing happens, let it loose again. You'll please a lot of people.

Babe, I am damn PROUD to call you my fake lesbian wifey. Freakin A-MAZ-ZZ-ING! So deep, pasionate, filled with emotion, that effortlessly flows out of your pen that writes in diamonds. (insert InuYasha quote here)
I love this poem ALMOST as much as I love you!
