Dreamstate

Dreamstate

A Poem by Sincerely, Alex
"

No more dreaming.

"

There is a boy beyond the clouds in the sky

With wings black as death that help him fly

Last I saw him, he flew away with my heart

Whenever he visits, its beat starts

His wings enclose me; with him I am whole

He whispers I am an angel, from higher above then he could ever attempt to hold

I will spend eternity with him, encased in his wings

When woken from this dream of longing and hope, liquid descends from my eyes

His wings do not lift me up, they make me fall to my demise

I must escape from this dream that will never come true

For my eyes are blinded by this bittersweet lie that my mind clings to

There can be no more dreaming like a girl so in love

He can never be my reality; I cannot be with him above

The angel of death is not as alive as my dreams make him to be

Alex, this poem is layered with many crossroads that can go many ways, a true sign of good writing. A love apart is the sweetest sorrow that the state of dreams we all live in will embrace and fight to not let go. Just be careful, and ready, with your wishes. Sometimes they do come true.

Fantastic write.

I thought it was excellent edition to the craft known as poetry.
The line "the angel of death is not as alive as my dreams make him to be" is a truly powerful line to me.
An excellent closing to an excellent verse.

I like the imagery in this. Falling in love with the angel of death is a cool idea.

The ending doesn't feel quite as smooth rhythmically to me.

"My mind clings to" feels a little too long, as does "make him to be" on the last line.

Over all, though I enjoyed it. I really like poetry it has just been a really long time since I wrote it!

I liked how you bolded certain words to emphasize them.

I really have no words for this....it was so beautiful & magical! It told such a fantastic story filled with so many powerful, enriched emotions. I can't even write a proper review because my mind is still swimming in these visions you've created. Wonderful job!

I feel these feels. This was beautifully written in my opinion, and I loved the imagery in it and I'm impressed with the rhyme scheme, because any time I write poetry it's just a bundle of words and emotions. I definitely agree that unrequited or forbidden love can be one of the most emotionally painful things to go through, and that's what makes this poem so relatable.

This poem was simply amazing to read. I enjoyed all the imagery that you presented, and I can read so many different views on this one poem alone. The visuals you present the reader are vivid and easily related to. I applaud your writing and enjoy this very much!

The bolded words add a grand effect to the overall feel of the piece.
