THE DANCER AND THE THIEF

So there I sat right by the lake

My dear Teddy approached me from afar

I smiled as he stood before me

My sweet, Lee” said Teddy kneeling on the grass

He held out a ring made of shining gold

On the very top sat a fat pink jewel that shone in the moonlight

With this ring in my hand, I ask you please to listen”

If you place this ring upon your finger, you shall be happy forever more”

Lee Hopkins, will you marry me?” said softly Teddy

I grinned and placed my hand gently on his

Yes” I whispered into the night

He took my hand and put the golden ring on my finger

Then he took me by hand and danced with me slowly in the silence of the night

We stopped for a minute and let our lips touch

Behind me, I kicked my leg up

Absent-mindlessly kicking the woman into the lake

The poor dead woman that my pale pink jewel belonged to

This was so sweet and happy until the last line. I absolutely adore this poem, it got me right from the second I started it. Fantastic job, can't wait to read more.

About
Hey guys. I love to write (obviously). My favorite things to write are short, horror stories because I was raised on horror and grew to love the genre, although I will sometimes write fantasy, romance.. more..
