One of Many Nights

One of Many Nights

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

I've transformed the evils of the world into a giant.

"

Wayward.

Sifting into a moral lapse in cartography.

His head spinning,

The dizziness causing a world wide confusion

About what was what.

The wars, hunger, suffering,

Causality after young causality

Lurking in some cesspool of darkness,

Dying or coming under the influence

Of an inescapable mind warp.

Finally he paused,

The confusion abating,

The waters of transcendence

Beginning to feed his soul.

After all those centuries of ugliness,

He could begin to see a small droplet of hope.

What can a million year old man

Of gargantuan size

Do for human beings?

The answer would come to him

In a sleepless hour

In his fifty-thousandths night of aloneness.

'One of Many Nights'
Alfred Kukitz,
Interpretation...here goes. Life can make a mind tired, a heart, a soul.
I found this as if a person worn by mistakes, pain, difficulties not knowing
where to turn and feeling like life had passed him by. Whether he Is
"in a sleepless hour
in his fifty-thousandths night of aloneness."
Would love to hear what prompted this really interesting bit of writing.
Creative for sure!
Blessings,
Kathy

It's peculiar how languague traps us into untenable circumstances. It there is any hope it lies in the small man, the everyday man, the man who thinks he is not a hero when he actually is. Thanks Jacob!

this is such a great statement on what we have done to ourselves over so many years...this reminds me of the steppenwolf song..."Monster"--

"there's a monster on the loose, got his head into a noose, and we just stand there watching"

watching our own demise...where is that drop of hope...we need it now.
