On the Loss of Karl

On the Loss of Karl

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

my friend loses a friend

"

On the Loss of Karl

When the hour fades into the eternal hue
Words of conversation's friendship
lay deep inside the soul of you

Once a man and a man together
requires man and spirit to say no more
a gathering of sorrow sheds its light for thee
While life's formula of friendship was kind to thee.

Apart forever on horizon's shore
Memories take hold in glory's more
In this sorrow while pain strikes your bed
I shall listen kindly and nurture all that my friend has said.

My Sympathies Lani

Lani and I have known each other since 1973. We are tight!

Thanks Jacob!

what a beautiful expression of sympathy...reminds me of when i lost my friend Carl to a heart attack at the young age of 54..sudden, unexpected. This gives me some solace in reading it...thanks for that.
