On the Honor of My Breast

On the Honor of My Breast

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

I pledge alligence

"

On the Honor of My Breast

On the Honor of my Breast
I shall not disobey
I have made the pledge
for what is great to say
My country free
Men & women who died for me
I shall honor there names that
went before there time
for it gives us a home
to find mirth in a smile

But the wheels of evil
have confounded our form
Dollars and riches is what they call more
Splintered men, chaotic souls,
the crimes of a few
have spoiled the core
We find ourselves uninformed
by free voices of home
but know surely that truth is hidden in storm.

Thanks Barleygirl,

I'm promoting "None of the Above" as an election choice. Won't you join me?

Regards,
Al

I'm trying to stay sane this election by not attempting to put any of this reality show into words . . . but I definitely get the HEART of your message & agree wholeheartedly. I like the juxtaposition between the "honor" we try to maintain (1st stanza) in the midst of the "madness" that prevails (2nd stanza). I think anyone could hear your message in the 2nd stanza loud & clear, even tho you don't detail what you're referring to, with much specificity. Nicely balanced picture of those of us clinging to the positive.

So true Jacob, so true.

Thanks!

honor? truth? what are they anymore...and whom do we believe to make things better.

Money buys much, but it can't buy honor...and "freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose"

at least if we have a good enough sense of humor, we might smile until the end.

Thanks Pryde!

A news letter from a VFW service rep influences my thoughts. It's our foreign policy dating back to WW II to the present. Horrid stuff.

Al

The wisdom of the Tao is to choose no enemies ... without the cloud of hatred and judgement all things become clear in time. Powerful write. Al:)
