Little Girl, Little Women

How often I have looked at you in your beautiful smallness
I can't count the times but I assure you they are many
Swim with me in open sunshine
Feel the gait of motion caress our direction

Oh little girl, oh little women
How is it I find a smile in both of you
As I, the fictional man, embrace
my sweet little girl in MS land.

Thanks Doodley!

She's allowing me to spoil her. I promised her to take her out when she's totally disabled.

Regards,
Al

A poignant piece.....

The funny thing about life and illness is that those who find themselves in pain and suffering usually have the brightest outlook on life and can smile at even the simplest things.

A lovingly written poem, Alfred. No doubt for a very brave and special little girl.

Thanks Ana!

As a former nurse I have witnessed my patients slide downward. I stay in the moment with them as the bond between us grows.

MS runs in my family and it is heartbreaking to watch someone strong and alive slowly deteriorate.

Thanks Sami!

MS will take away her walk but I promised her I will continue to take her out to enjoy life.

Thanks KL,

As a man without children I try to create a fiction of life to soothe my person. This is a friend's daughter.

Pity that no one has stopped by this piece. Without a jaundiced eye and an open heart, I see love in this poem.
