You Old Man

You Old Man

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

47 years since Nam and getting older

"

You Old Man

on a lark i tried infancy

as a man i was teetering on the abyss of old age.

some sixty years or more hence

i sucked my thumb in bravery’s course

never did i feel the smallness of my cells like now

infinite variety making my matrix

a biology of pranks on the old man’s head.
