Jewel

Jewel

A Poem by Ruairidh
"

I posted this a couple of weeks ago but removed it shortly after to make some changes.

"
Some things last forever,
Or seem to do at least,
Like sunlight setting in the west
And rising in the east.
The rocks that lie beneath us;
The mountains climbed above;
The sky in omnipresence,
Horizon's distant curve.

But our lives are much quicker,
Not so long for the earth,
Our time is as an arrow
With a target set from birth.
Yet still there lies a jewel
In the space mid you and me,
That sparkles in the star-lit glow
Of all eternity.
