Babylon

Two bees try
That is the quest

De bitskoemer
Zooming into
The bloom

Hook all
Did eek
Nodding

To the point

The karakol
Is
Open

24/7
Angst

Eek will
A karakol

Glossary of foreign words, used phonetically in this poem:
Bitskoemer: beach cumber (Antwerp dialect)
Bloom: written bloem in Dutch, means both flower and ... flour.
Hook all: ook al (even) (Dutch)
Eek: ik, meaning I (Dutch)
Nodding: nothing (Antwerp dialect)
Karakol: Turkish, sometimes used to refer to the police station (in some parts of Turkey), in Dutch: an edible snail, sold at street stands or fairs…
Will: Dutch ‘wil’ means ‘want’

Please read the glossary, I used some words from my dialect, my native language and more to write a poem that contains English words which sound phonetically English, but have a totally different meaning in the original language

hahah being Dutch i got a kick out of these dutch words! dutch is such a comical language- definitely not romantic , but also not percussive and severe like German. And indeed- in Babylon the punishment for the tower was the many different languages so no one could understand anyone else lol - ja goed, alles goed, groot mooi.

This is an enjoyable read, although quite confusing. I had to constantly look back to the glossary and read the meanings. But generally, i found this fun. I also find it aptly named.

well, at first i didnt notice the glossary, and was a bit confused due to the fact I do not speak dutch, but once I read the meanings I began to really like the piece, it was very amusing to mix native tongues, I really like the concept, and how it could have several different meanings due to this fact... Very well Done.

I really like the concept of the poem to mean one thing on the surface in English, but to have a deeper meaning in another language. I'm sure this would sound great read aloud, it sounded cool when I read it, I'm sure it would be better read by someone who could actually pronounce everything! :)

I'm sure there is some meaning behind this, but with a slow mind like mine...I'm not sure how to review this to be honest. I guess, just lots of luck on the crazy tongues contest! is all i can say.
