All Alone

All Alone

A Poem by Lauren Beth

I lay here forlorn, it’s quiet now.

The house is dark and cold.

Yes, I’m all alone…..

A cinder block thrown

Upon my chest.

Crushing me, pulling me down

Down, down, deeper.

A heavy heart, emptiness inside

I must be dreaming, I think

I am dreaming.

Yet I am clearly awake.

When will this nightmare end?

My world is gone- it’s

No longer here….

I am all alone.

I have hit bottom. I’ve been falling

For so long….at rock bottom

The ground is so rigid and cold,

I am all alone……

i've been here before. they say the only way to go when you hit bottom is up again but what do 'they' know anyway. sometimes i stay at the bottom for a very long time. very dark & deep write. i love it.

Being alone at night with a broken heart is the worst... to much time to feel and think with no distractions... you captured the despair and never ending loneliness with raw intensity... nice write.

About
I enjoy writing poetry, usually just what comes to me. I write for me, it's like just something that I need to get out. Whatever hits me at the moment I start jotting down, on sticky notes, napkins.... more..
