Dear Life

Dear Life

A Poem by Alyssa

Dear Life,

Thanks a lot.

Thanks for annoying little brothers,

For rude people, drama, and bad breath breathing in your face.

For icy driveways, and little barking dogs.

For the phone ringing always at the wrong time, running to answering it, then hearing the stupid telemarketer.

Thanks for when all the shampoo bottles fall off the shelf in the shower

and all the times my pencil fell off my desk in class.

Thanks for all the lost remotes, phones, and socks

For my dog wanting to chew everything it sees,

For hot coffee that I spill on myself in the car when it goes over a pot hole

For sleepless nights and zombie like Monday mornings

Thanks for homework, and spilled milk... all over my lap.

For headaches, and stubbed toes

For everything else you brought upon my life that I am so thankful for,

Thanks a lot.

This was really good in my opinion :]
I liked it. The little things that you have in your poem such as

"Thanks for when all the shampoo bottles fall off the shelf in the shower"

Made it really unique, because I dont think a lot of people would think of such little things like that

Great write, overall

Quite an interesting twist on that thankful heart! I loved the little glimmers of life, how it sometimes sets out to undo us. And have experienced quite a few of those, so I could relate! Thanks for sharing such an insightful look at the world...

HAHA...while I was just about to say you should try to see the positive side of what life has brought you and enjoy the happy things...like the fact that yes, your dog barks but it is alive and you have companion in your dog and while your little bother may be annoying, he will more than likely grow up to be your best friend, and zombie like monday mornings...well the day eventually ends...I scrolled down and read your author's note. That a brought a smile to my face. Now I understand the poem more. I really liked this piece...Great poem :)

"For sleepless nights and zombie like Monday mornings"

I know that so well...

Thank you for injecting some light into all the gloom of those things we all find so bothersome.
Really enjoyed this creation of yours.

I like you and I like your writing. This sense of humor thing...has it always been with you? Do you ever make faces behind peoples back when they are being stupid or over serious?

Nice writing there. I'll have to read more.

I thought this was awesome, I like how you really show your pet peeves, makes it very unique, many people would not think to note the annoyances of telemarketers, or bad breath in the face.

I love this! It's got that great sarcastic teenager-ness that we all know and love. Great writing, keep it up!
