FIND THE TRIGGER FIND THE MARK

A Poem by andrew mitchell

FIND THE TRIGGER FIND THE MARK

I don't want to be forgotten
so I'm leaving my mark.
I want to be remembered;
an impression that will last.

A painter with his picture,
a writer with his pen,
I want to be remembered,
it's just a question of when.

For memories are forgotten
and being mortal too,
my impression having been written
will be there, forever to view.

Love this one and i think every reader will feel the same, writer or not. We all want to be remembered and leave our mark on this world. some want it through fame and fortune, some through words and work and some though love and friendship! My personal opinion to be remembered is in the small things that we do everyday for those around us!

Writing is so individual and uniquely self explanatory that it gives every reader a glimpse into your soul. There is no better way to be remembered, in my opinion.

Beautiful...our legacy is what we make it...I often think on this and believe we really never know how much someone will remember us, more often than not, people are remembered more than they thought they would be...lovely piece Andrew...

This piece really hit a mark with me as well. I feel all true writers feel this way. We want to be immortal. Want our words to land us somewhere in history.
Great job elaborating on that!

Hi Andrew. I smiled as I read this because you have written what lies at the bottom of every poet's inspiration. I so loved this!! Love the analogies, painters etc, love the deep yearning voice that seeps from the words. I believe you may achieve you desire. Just keep slogging and improving, (Hopefully we'll both get there one day, so save a place for me!!!!), alf
