Mother's tenant.

Mother's tenant.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Man has only been interested
in the value of the nest
and not the well being of the nest.

Sadly, this is man.

Man who creates wars,
man who has wiped out fifty percent
of the world's animal population,
scarred vast areas of Earth for mining,
man who continues to destroy,
and who continues to pollute.

The same man
who claims to have a soul
and righteously thinks
he deserves a place in heaven.

Really! I don't think so!
Man is a bad tenant.

dear Andrew... this is a Mother Earth poem... yesterday April 22 was Earth Day.
Yes, we are not good tenants... as your prose has penned with a trembling quill.
Earth is embedded with beauty and gems galore...
worth more than all the money in the world. I suffer at the thought of
destroying what G-d has wrought. truly, Pat

Amen! Though I constantly try, I don't think I'll ever understand why so many of us humans put personal desires before all else.

"Tenant" is the perfect word here, Andrew. It appears the disconnect exists between the reality and perception... man believing he's landlord, not tenant. All well said in a brief poem.

thank you Ray
So well said, there's nothing else to be said. This is exactly how I feel, toward myself included. We have sucked as stewards & I love that your righteous indignation is fully stated, but not a rant. Perfect balance so you don't lose the part of your audience who think it's a hoax (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you for stopping by.
and he is quite late on his rent...the landlord only asks for caring and love...but the man just wants, as you say, war and power...and wow.

the other tenants are complaining.

Lol. You are welcome peacably.
Hahaha. The dichotomy of it all. Mass wars and murders, invasions and ocupation of native lands, rape and pillaging on mass scales, disregard to rights and justices except for themselves and so on... And they they claim religious purity and heaven bound souls.
