The meaninglessness of Nursery Crimes!

The meaninglessness of Nursery Crimes!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Humpty Dumpty
climbed the wall
Humpty Dumpty
didn’t fall.
All the king’s horses
and all the king’s men
never had eggs
on toast again.
Black and white
was the night
while the day was
all the grey
and everywhere
the moments went
the memories were
here to stay.
Jack and Jill
had no hill
to drag a whale
to water.
Three little pigs
became three fat pigs
and their houses
just got bigger.

this is too funny...but underneath the humor..quite the statement of our insane world right now.
And even nursery rhymes are tainted and cannot take us away from the truth of what is going on...not even a diversion...
excellent write, andrew,

Thanks for your kind words J.
Lmao this was hilarious to read first thing after logging in! I rarely ever saw sense in nursery rhymes anyway ;P Cool one, Andrew!

I love pushing the limits on writing poetry. Not everyone's cup of tea but maybe a few will enjoy the twists and turns, the simple, the depth of simplicity, the bizarre and the ridiculous. Strindberg.. more..
