A narrow narrative through the haze of a maze.

A narrow narrative through the haze of a maze.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Through the eye
of the beholder
a shop window displays
a sign that reads
a soul for sale
enquire within.
Trampled meanderings of
an after thought lie
along the path of
a cobble stone mind.
Amongst a wishing well
for memories lost
a chimney bellows smoke
of wisdom fading.
A dripping tap,
a wilted heart
pronounced dead on arrival,
another page turns
a story dies along
the edge of the End
belonging to time.

Ha ha Jacob thanks for the smile. Your mind will never close nor will your poetry.
You never cease to amaze me Andrew just when I think I know your voice another one comes crashing into the room! the course of this meandering is a fantastic flow! wow i'm stunned by it great imagery and analogy plays in here. I have heard on occasion that hidden inside the greatest comedians can be found a heavy heart and I think i just glimpsed yours and it painted a fine image good sir

I love pushing the limits on writing poetry. Not everyone's cup of tea but maybe a few will enjoy the twists and turns, the simple, the depth of simplicity, the bizarre and the ridiculous. Strindberg.. more..
