The aftermath of a tear.

The aftermath of a tear.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Tether a tear
and see it run
as dry eyes
see the clear
where sorrow
breaks free.

So visual Andrew. I saw that tear balance precariously. It didn't fall, but it could have done. Sorrow is there whether the tear falls or not. When it does fall, I can feel the sorrow breaking free. That is better in my opinion than holding back. You suffer inside more that way. A gem of brevity here.

This is exquisite Andrew, as always insightful and fraught with intricacy .

This is excellent, Andrew!

As in life, if you tether anything it will always try to run away. And so it is with tears and sorrow as you have written here. This is an astute piece of observation and wisdom, wonderful in its thought and brevity.

Very well done, Andrew.

i like the idea of the tear representing sorrow breaking free...
i just love this one.
it is so hard to tether a tear...when they want to fall...they just do.
