Investigative thoughts by the thought police.

Investigative thoughts by the thought police.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

So lets start from the beginning shall we!
Tell me what happened exactly?
Well Officer! One minute the thought was there,
the next that thought was gone.
He did a runner I think!
Why do you say that?
Well! We were both thinking
along the same lines together
at the same time...
then nothing!
Like I turned around
and he was gone.
I've looked everywhere Officer I tell you!
Under the bed, the carpet, even through my mind.
So you think the moment had
something to do with the thought's disappearance?
Yes! I do!
I see! I think we may be onto something here.
We're had these moments before
running off with a thought.
Will it come back Officer?
Probably, highly unlikely Sir.
We're found in the past
these rogue thoughts elope
with moments hiding behind time
and attaching to other thoughts
as a mask.
Why do you ask Sir?
I was just thinking Officer...
I've lost another thought.

Andrew, I must tell you this might be... age (not a crime). :)

Well, I’ve had the same experience, and I’m glad some thoughts ran off. I wouldn’t want to be seen with some of them. A witty and well written poem.

lol just my silly humour Robert, yes age is the villain!
Be like the policeman, or indeed the poet that you are, and keep a little notepad and pen with you at all times, 'tis invaluable evidence to prove your thoughts. :))

Beccy.

PS. I have a notepad and pen with me always; even on my beside cabinet.

Thanks Beccy and Merry Xmas and a safe New Year to you and yours.
A moment I understand all too well. One minute the thought is there the next moment you're standing in the basement wondering where the hell it went...and why is it those rogue thoughts seem to op up in the middle of the night and by the time you've got your glasses on, away they went.

Good one Andrew, I quite like it.
