A Poem by andrew mitchell

What verse are we given
in the sentence of our lives
to run with a verb
always carrying the noun
of us somewhat objective, always adjective
in a comma passing
we all reach the fullstop.

i seem to always pause in semi-colon fashion, unable to find that full stop...and a bit too slow these days for a comma...
when i was younger, i was more of a cause and effect character...the old comma/conjunction combo.
love poems that deal with semantics/ grammar as metaphor.
