In the echo of a stutter.

In the echo of a stutter.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Well, well, well,
another day, day...
stuttering.
There is an echo, echo
in here, in here...
said the madman.
Let, let... let
there be... be
no, no, no more
stutters, stuttering, stuttering.
I tried, I really did...
I tried to have,
to have a free,
free, free mind,
mind, but I...
I was given, given
too much, too much
cerebral constipation.
There is an echo in here
said the madman
and I am not free.

I have this mind stuttering at present and not a mad emotion in sight; the stuttering of a mind that is struggling with putting words on the page. "Cerebral constipation" it most definitely is! Such a great description, that one. Such a creatively written and conveyed poem! Very unique. 💛

I do not stutter, but everyone has some obvious affliction that others may malign or misjudge so we try to keep it well hidden . . . our affliction, whatever it may be, is exactly like a madman so I love that you personify the stutter this way. I also love your repeating, which is well-done. Biden (our next prez in the USA) has a stutter & it's so pathetic to see Trump make fun of him for this when Trump's failings are so vast. Maybe Biden isn't "all that" to some people becuz of his stutter & his age, but it's a damn sight better than what we've endured the past 4 years! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I know the madman song too. I liked the flow of words, they danced to a honest ending. Thank you Andrew for sharing the entertaining poetry.
