Collectively, humour without a laugh.

Collectively, humour without a laugh.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

A comedy of errors,
a comic verse
tripped over
a comical line
in a comic decline
the crowd sentenced
it “not funny!”
I stand to be
corrected,
the humour
had moved on
I’m now
a clown
not a
comedian.
Collectively,
humour without
a laugh is no more
a tear in
a clown’s eye.

Clowns always scared me...so do some comedians whose material is just abrasive, not funny...
and I have to laugh....I think poets need a sense of humor to keep above water.
