Do I pretend to be

Do I pretend to be

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I am a child,
the child that plays,
the child that laughs,
the child that cries,

and sometimes
the inner child
is my shadow
and sometimes not.

Am I the man to be
or just a child
that has grown taller?
And yet when
I look at myself
I’m only an extension
of a child that once was.

Always a child,
a child to
the very end,
an old child
that never had time
to truly grow up,
and so.... for now
the cosmos surrounds me.

Never lose that inner child Andrew. The man needs that inner child to remind him to laugh abd play when the going gets tough. Hope you are keeping well.

The cosmos always surrounds us.

I distinctly know when my inner child is awakened. I would prefer she just take an eternal nap but she is there, always.

I do not think you pretend to be (Emperor Andrew). All what you conveyed marvelously is the truth and the reality of humans growing up, never surrendering that childhood identity. It is part and parcel of who we are, who we become. It is like roots leading to branches then fruit.
