Abandoned Bones

Abandoned Bones

A Poem by amandah91

My skin is blue and icy cold.
You have me locked away.
I know if I try something bold
There will be Hell to pay.

I've been in here for far too long,
The pigments left my cheeks.
It could be that a day has gone,
Perhaps it has been weeks.

Silver tears frozen on my face,
Ashen breath creates a cloud.
The window shows a sunny space,
I am stuck inside this shroud.

You've forgotten all about me,
The dungeon's key will turn to rust.
I will die here if you let me,
Abandoned bones will gather dust.

I very much enjoyed your poem, Amandah91! You held my attention and kept me wanting to read more. I love the stanzas - this poem flows quite nicely, right off the tongue and easy to read. Your description is lovely, imagery is wonderful! Bravo!
