A Proud Father

A Proud Father

A Poem by Aman Garg
"

A father's fight against the society for her daughter.

"
We got independence in 1947,
But she wasn't independent uptil even,
Although this was the time to breakeven.

When She was born,
The societal drama got torn,
But it was her father who proudly believed her as his first born.

When she wished to smile,
They didn't consider her worthwhile,
But it was him who taught her to smile and that too with style.

When she tried to Speak,
They made sure that she doesn't open her beak,
But it was him who helped her to move her cheek.

When she wanted to walk,
They did everything to make her movement block,
However it was him who made her walk as solid as rock.

She got herself into dreaming,
They wanted to limit her to cooking,
Although it was him who made her believe what all mattered was her beaming.

She wanted to study after completing school,
They believed it as a choice of fool,
However it was him who made things cool.

She did mistakes,
They believed that she is done with her takes,
Although it was him who showed her the right path to handle all her aches.

When she was Low,
They thought it is the time to make her blow,
Everytime he was the one who made her Glow.

She wanted to fly,
They ensured that it was just inches high,
He gave her his shoulders to climb and touch the Sky.

“A father’s tears and fears are unseen, his love is unexpressed, but his care and protection remain as a pillar of strength throughout our lives.”
