and said today

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

the world as I sometimes see it

"
these tears that fall are
tiny rivulets of sadness
spilled by a heart breaking
for a man dying
of the deadliest disease.
the flowers have all been executed -
the beasts have long been dead
but nothing here decays.

they always knew it would happen
the simple creatures
did not ignored
the trivialities.
after all, reasoned man
OVERKILL is propaganda
NUCLEAR WINTER just a lie.

this is my say
and said today -
for tomorrow
someone might push a button
and spread
man's (superior) intelligence
all over
space.
