sea to sand

sea to sand

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

how I miss this world

"
Dansando
na praia -
o mar ao areia
coraçao duendo
querendo sentir
o ritmo
de novo
embaixo dos
meus pes
cocos verdes
cervejas
no sol
me embraçar
uma vez
Brasil
meu amor

Dancing on
the beach
sea to sand
heart aching
to feel the
beat
once again
beneath my
feet and
in my soul
coconuts
and beer
in the sun
embrace me
one time
Brazil
my love.

Author's Note

Lyn Anderson
I have many (Brazilian) Portuguese poems but this is the first I wrote in a while - thankfully, I got the international keyboard working, and fixed the missing accents. I posted the translation, but the original sounds nicer.

Sounds like you may be homesick, KL. I really enjoyed this one. I could quote the whole poem but the lines:

coconuts
and beer
in the sun
embrace me
one time
Brazil
my love.

Wrap the whole poem up in with a big red bow and I loved them. Great job!

Not many coconuts in Portugal my girl! I love the French language and the Spanish/ Portuguese some words are best told in a foreign tongue.

Portuguese is Brasil's first language, and the beach is in Brasil, which is in the poem.
