blame

blame

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

always an excuse, never a reason

"
did he
blame the
train for
taking daddy
away?

or mama
for needing
him to work
at ten?

did he
blame the
river for
taking his first
born son?

or the saw
for taking
his sight?

he had every
reason to
blame God
the devil
or just plain
old bad luck,
but he chose
not to,
and that is
what made
grandpa
so special
to me.

A tribute that touched me deeply. Your grandfather was a man to look up to and to respect. He did not blame anyone....he kept on going onward and upward and he lived a life he could be proud of....one that obviously effected you in a positive way. Beautifully said. Lydi**

Amazing how you can wrap up all this emotion of one's life in so few words. Brava.

Hey You, I find myself agreeing entirely with my review predecessor stargazer. You sure do tell something of a magical story in so few words. A fitting literary tribute to someone who sounds like a remarkable old and much loved fella....Sorted, N
