tipped the scales

tipped the scales

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

as it is

"
Everyone
(even me)
has their
breaking
point.

Not sure
when
the
scales
tipped.

A gear or
two
slipped
with every
lie.

And now
you
try
to reason
why.

When in
truth
I have
no
clue.

What finally
made
me
stop loving
you.

Maybe it was that the scales were not balanced KLG. Nice flowing easy and expressive free verse.

I think I actually heard those gears strip...like a slap upside the head, you always get it right on your target.

thank you very much. That is my goal, if in the end I don't succeed, I try, try again.

This is certainly your forte.........
The poem makes sense. How often do you see that? Suggest the "I" alone is an eye stopper. See you have five line stanzas and probably want to keep that scheme. Perhaps "I have" in one line and "No" to stand alone. Guess I"m asking if you prefer six or a half-dozen.

I have. That looks better.
My gut feeling is that as well as being a fine poetical work, there is a whole lot of truth contained within these 42 well strung words...N
