Led to today

Led to today

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

If we could change the past, we wouldn't anyway, at least, not me ...

"
There is no back
only forward
and that is okay
with me.
I wouldn't change
what I had with
the first,
nor the day
the one in between
turned to me
and said,
"You're stunning",
nor alter our passion
under the full lit
moon.
I wouldn't change
the day the one
who would change
it all said,
"I have a crush on
you",
even though he
crushed me
later, and left
me for dead.
All of these things
led to today.
And today
is brighter
than it's been
in a long time.

Tomorrow does come... but so did yesterday... and the day before and the one before that...

i like your double meaning with "crush"---

vulnerability opens us to be left for dead...but if we don't go for it ever, we are already dead.

I like this . But there's always a risk when you reveal your true feelings to someone . You have no more card. left to play except hoping for a stalemate or perpetual check . Its a dangerous thing to say because it could change the whole dynamic or the game .That was very clever write .
