dark heart

dark heart

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

poetic madness

"
Poetic madness
a jagged hook
pierced through
my flesh
grazing bone
and spilling
life

Bruised eruptions
turned yellow
deceptions
painted me into
a crooked corner
of sticky traps and
death

Words seethe
bind me to
the altar of
your diseased mind
angrily shredded
dreams of ever afters'
strife

Torn and broken
doll you made
me ugly --
in your attempt
to separate
my soul
from me                                       dark heart
                          no pity
                                                                         have mercy
                set me free.

Ok. I guess I'm going to need a helmet.
I felt balanced on the edge of a cliff, looking down, my heart beating rapidly as I prepared to fall while reading this darkly crafted piece my friend. Very cool and edgy.

I always have fun in your world my friend.

I am glad you liked it. I yanked it out of me whole.
I love your poetic madness, although I already knew you were a madwoman. ;-) This one surely floats the darkly color'd boats. My favorite of yours thus far. Never cry Uncle no matter how rough it gets, but I know you won't give in to that madness either.....you flipp'd my poetic head with this one lady.

Your fave? Wow, I am honoured. My poetess goddess baroness of the apostrophe!

Ha you're such a sassy kitty....!
This was a very interesting and observational poem. Toward the end, or the end after several readings, the question comes: Who issued license to the soul separator? Who tolerated it and why? How is a soul separator powered, empowered?

Who, ultimately, has the power to renounce evil? Is this the renunciation?

I agree with Jacob. This is a strong piece, KL. I love the word choice and the structure.

It was a daring move, considering that the poem seems to have a rule of having seven lines each.
this is one of your strongest pieces...the imagery and tone are so in your face...a poetry blitz.
