I am am the penultimate
Romance "Scrooge"
you cannot drown me
in your deluge --

"Bahh Humbug"
I am co-opting
Christmas jargon for my
own kevlar coated
heart --

I won't be schmoozled
woozled or
bamboozled by
your expertly sugar-coated
romantic Schlock --

I am impervious
to your gooey syrupy
drivelly drizzle --
it will only fizzle
up against
my
ice ...

I like this one. Its got sass and a no nonsense attitude. It kind of reminds me of one of my own poems. Nicely done, my friend. Love that last stanza. It makes me smile in a funny way.

Lol! I actually read Jack's rebuttal before this piece - very funny, KL! I am not a huge fan of syrupy love poems, either, though I do enjoy most of Jack's work. :)
